A comic as relevant to America as to Europe... The fascist AfD party in Germany is frequently thrown out of Turkish, Syrian, or generally non-German restaurants and then play the victim. If you wish for the sole celebration and funding of your “culture”, why is it that you must use, take, and enjoy (appropriate) everything other cultures provide? It was never about culture, it is only about control.

Defending the argument of the right to asylum needs to go beyond justifying people's existence through their labor value. I couldn't care two cents about migrants being relevant to the economic backbone of any country, the right to asylum and the right to move freely is one given to humans by birth, and only either enacted or taken away from by governments.

@ErikUden I remember seeing one of their posters that encouraged "traditional German values", the Tracht/Dirndl shown on it were cheap polyester copies that you would find in a fancy dress shop (even here in England), not anything that folk who geuinely cared about these cultural traditions would actually wear..

I can see having to use the majorly accepted, and within the framework of our current economic understanding, argument of a migrant mass deportation being the most hazardous thing one could do to economic stability. However I do also believe the idea that “these people are so easy to exploit that our economy began relying on it” is neither a humane nor a sustainable argument for people's existence.Losing migrants is a loss for our communities, our homes, our culture, and in turn: our humanity.

Gone are the days of European self-righteousness, chauvinistically educating the world on morals - or really those days never existed. But no, our racism is different to yours, our racism is in fact not racism, but a legitimate fear you could never understand. Our racism is justified. In modern history during neocolonialism, if exploited nations of the global south behaved the way Europe and America do today, it was seen as a sign of backwardness and being uncivilized. During colonial times, when nations would not do racial segregation, or have discriminatory systems against women in place, the colonizers thought that to be a sign of barbarism, and often installed the very apartheid, the very mysoginy the global south needed to revolt against themselves later. I fear of an age where the west's definition of barbarism shifts once again. What is and isn't civilized was always defined arbitrarily by what the colonizers did themselves. How long until open borders, free travel, multi-culturalism, equality between the sexes, genders, and races, becomes a sign of being “underdeveloped” once more?

@vfrmedia major AfD politicians get frequently caught off guard when asked to name a singular German poem they enjoy after preaching for hours about how schools should teach German poems or values once again.Fascism is never an ideology, it's the absence of one. They are using the most basic appeal to tribalism with no integrity. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, as it's always the same game. The goal is as much power in control by as few people as possible, not anything about culture.

@ErikUden For the multiple blood tests...have they put in an IV that they can draw blood through? (IVs can work both ways.) When I was in the hospital in July, I had one because they were drawing labs four times a day.It's a whole lot easier than trying to keep finding veins.If not, you'll quickly learn which veins you want them to use 🙂
