       @Frondeur @Jewpacabra @ac3po No what happened is the Aztecs were originally from around Arizona and migrated down to Mexico. They then arranged to have the daughter of a local chief marry an Aztec god. When the chief came back to check on his daughter, he found she looked very ill, her skin being an unhealthy color. He then realized it was not his daughter, but an Aztec priest wearing her skin. The god she "married" was Xipe Totec, the god of harvest, and his priests would wear human skin till it peeled away like husks peel away from corn.The chief did not much appreciate this so he commanded his warriors slaughter the Aztecs, who fled into a swamp. There they noticed an eagle with a snake in its claws perched on a cactus. The Aztecs saw this as a sign from the gods and so founded the city of Tenochtitlan.
