       @crunklord420 Because they may have paid for and scheduled email campaigns in advance.  These are seeded from an owned list, but the company doing the actual email may be a contractor who received a partial list at the time they were contracted for a campaign.  That unsubscribe link should go to the original list owner, not the contractor, who has no view into the main list.So, your email may already be scheduled for a 3:00 AM blast a few days from now from any of a hundred different companies.  Rather than promise to chase down people who got your address before today, the list owner just takes it off their central list, so it doesn't go out in future campaigns.  10 days is the estimate for any previously-scheduled campaign to run, thus clearing your email from the distributed system.
