Fucking Kaiser Permanente. I have to go sit at their pharmacy for 45 minutes to get my prescriptions (because I'm not allowed to reorder them online or over the phone!) and they beep my phone saying ready, and put my name up on the "it's ready!" board. I wait 5-10 minute in line to get up front and... They're not actually ready yet. The notification and board lied.Motherfucker, I am 30 seconds from vomiting because you made me stand up that long, and THEY'RE NOT READY?!

You'd think they'd know this given they're the ones that diagnosed me with this condition but apparently the people who know I'm very sick are different from the people who go "fuck 'em, make them stand for 10 minutes! Oh, they'll vomit and might die? Well they should have thought of that before they got a chronic illness!"

Though they'll probably then kick me out for not paying my insurance. I mean, I did pay my insurance, and that's highly illegal, but probably a lot of the other shit they're doing is illegal too.And then charge me 4000$ for having to clean my blood off the floor

@foone Co-worker was trying to get information on how to combine a diabetic diet with one for high cholesterol. K kept saying he could get individual diet information, but it was the same thing he'd already gotten in his group. He was Not Happy.

Stipulated, those supplies are not the active medication, but the medication is pretty useless if all you have is a rusty nail 😔For what it’s worth, I know our community’s HIV Alliance offers home delivery of safe injection supplies, no questions asked etc. Hopefully you may have access to something similar?

@foone I can't tell how much I feel sorry for the mess you're in and how fucked up the system you're in is.The "deactivated needles prescription"' triggered me.As a Type1 diabetic in Belgium, my insulin and glucose sensors are completely free of charge (covered by social healthcare insurance) but the needles to inject it I have to pay for myself (insert *rolleyes*, right ?) but those are like €5/month.Could've been worse.I feel for you.Take care.

I've got spare needles so this isn't immediately a problem but it's just so weird. Why would my doctor cancel just the needles and syringes, while leaving my injectable medicine on the prescription list?

@foone My sis-in-law would be after them if they did something like that to my sister. (Sis has had trouble in the past with meds-by-mail being late or in the wrong quantity.)

@fooneThe endless fuck ups with syringe and needle prescriptions is why I finally just gave up and started ordering mine online. Allegro and Medicalmonks have both been good enough, and I can get like a years supply for $20 or so.

@fooneNo worries 🙂 My pharmacy never seemed to have the right syringe size or needle gauge, and after way too many times of getting stuck with some giant 21G, I was like ... I'm sick of this. I'm just ordering online.

@foone this sounds exactly like my experience when I had Kaiser.Everything was totally great right up until you actually got sick or needs care, then it took an act of Congress to get anything done.No exaggeration, my elderly next door neighbor had a sore in her leg that got infected. 3 trips to Kaiser, no antibiotics. She collapses in the living room and is taken by ambulance to the nearest ER (not Kaiser). The doc there sees her leg is practically gangrenous. Her insurance refuses coverage and says she needs to be transported to the nearest Kaiser ER.The ER doc, knowing how shitty Kaiser is, tells them her condition isn’t safe for transport. Only then do they approve treatment.A course of IV antibiotics later and she’s good to go.She nearly lost her leg, all because Kaiser wanted to say $80 on a course of broad spectrum antibiotics. I hope that other ER charged the hell out of Kaiser for it. F those guys.
