       Done, my preorder of #Civilization7 has been cancelled.I was looking forward to #CivilizationVII because #Civilization is one of the very few games I keep playing, year after year. Preordering was possible since last week, so I did.And then I found out Civ7 would come with the loathsome #Denuvo #DRM shite. I'm not having that kind of intrusive we-can-shut-you-down-anytime-we-like crap on any of my systems.So I cancelled my preorder, and got the confirmation:We’ve issued the refund to the payment provider. You should see a credit or see the original charge removed from your statement within 14 days.#Games

       @hans DRM is the worst. Lately I've turned to FLOSS games to avoid all the pitfalls that proprietary games can throw at you. I'm enjoying Beyond All Reason, Open TransportTycoon and  Mindustry a lot. Maybe you can give FreeCiv, UnCiv or even 0AD a try. I can't get the hang of them but maybe it's something for you.

       @Eric Buijs I prefer FLOSS in everything, including games. One such game I've played for many years is @Battle for Wesnoth.But not all games are free, and I understand that you need to pay salaries if you hire developers to create a game.I have no problem paying for a game that costs money, but I refuse to buy stuff that can be disabled whenever somebody feels like it.And mind you, a malfunction in one of the systems might trigger that too, not only the suspicion of foul play.Shipping crap like #Denuvo is the studio telling me that they don't trust me. So they can sod off then.
