@futurebird It’s possible it’s “real” because he didn’t say they called him “sir.” But it was probably someone trying to come up with a counterpoint to the “he rambles” comments. There may have been an English professor somewhere along the line who talked about weaving multiple subjects together. But since that isn’t what Trump does, I doubt that is the person who told him about it.

@futurebird We think this is funny but I do know someone who was studying evangelicals doing bible study and interpretation of texts, and now they do it with trump’s speeches, because the speeches are like speaking in tongues, like Revelations or something, and these Bible study groups are like what does he even MEAN?!? and treat it like exegesis. @futurebird Trump is describing a compensation technique for a cognitive issue he has long struggled with. He can't hold a complete thought in his head for more than a couple seconds before he gets bored with it and begins to ramble. In the past, he probably did "weave" just as he describes. He would realize in the middle of the ramble that he'd gotten off track and then quickly compose an ex-post facto connection to bring it back together.
