@vriska@lizards.live They were nationalists but not inherently "Fascists". Them joining the Fascist movement was due to it being convenient and normalized at the time (like socialists siding with communist dictatorships because of normalization). They had syncretic political views that included a form of democracy (there are alternate, syncretic takes of "Fascism" in Italy that are democratic anyway but I digress).

@vriska@lizards.live I kinda feel like Futurism as a broader "ideology"—as opposed to an art movement—was basically avant-garde sperging and not really consistent from any sort of real philosophical axiom outside of some sort of contrarianism. Their political points were just a hodge-podge of syncretism for the sake of syncretism.
