OK... hear me out... a standard rice cooker... BUT when it's done and it plays the little "rice is ready" tune it also has a feature so when you open the lid it emits a golden light and angelic voices sing "AH! AH!" like it's a treasure chest. Don't judge too quickly. Really THINK about it!

@futurebird Rig up a system like this chap did but instead of sending an alert, trigger a WiFi-enabled audio player. Or do send an alert but play an audio file on your phone paired to the rice maker system. That "thunk" sound is a little metal alloy plate beneath the pot, precisely calibrated to reach it's Curie point at >100C so that the magnetic switch can't hold it when the water is all boiled away š¤
