I thought I remembered someone made a USB-C board that was a tiny little thing that would configure USB-PD for arbitrary voltages. the idea was that you could replace a 9V/12V/15V barrel jack with a USB-C plug. But searching I can't find anything that's really that. Anyone remember this or am I misremembereing?

@minego I thought I remembered one that let you step up through at least every 0.5v, maybe even 0.1v like it had a big DIP switch on it so you could tell it to give you 5v or 19.5v with just a few adjustments

@foone As others have commented, USB Power Delivery can let you select from a short list of voltages (5, 9, 12, 18, etc). Note that not all voltages are supported! 12 is optional in the spec. Smaller battery packs will only support 5 and 9V. And PPS is even more rare to find. Also, note that some USB hosts (i.e. laptops) do not re-negotiate voltage while connected. That means you should program it for a specific voltage first THEN plug it in.Good luck!
