       I finally managed to run the favourite game of my childhood, Civilization: Call to Power.And yes, I have a typical case of "it was much better in my memories".

       Call to Power is much less known than the mainstream Civilizations. It was released in 1999, and I spent many, many years playing it in the early and mid 00s.

       Back then it was the coolest game ever. Now, after having more than a thousand hours in Civ V, CTP feels much, oh so much worse.

       There is however one thing that Call to Power has, and Civ V is lacking: environmental pollution. In CTP you cannot just build factories and airports in every city. If you do so, you will cause pollution, and some tiles around the cities will become unusable. A very cool gameplay mechanic, forcing the player to make a balance between industry and the climate. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

       @bekopharm I heard CTP had a Linux port, but I never tried it, don't remember why. Maybe I could not find it. My current solution is a Windows 10 VM, that I installed mostly because of my keyboard woes :D

       @stfn CivVI has pollution, maybe time for upgrade. Now I play Humankind from SEGA. Not the best two years ago at release, but now it's a good game. Try it, pollution is a well designed mechanic in the game and you can turn the planet to a state where lose condition triggers as people can't live on the planet anymore.
