       @Naureckas If I understand correctly, I don't think it tries to do that. Without algos, it just replies on human boosts for that function. And while it happens now, increasing the amount of people active here would help a lot.

       @wjmaggos It tries not to do that. I fear that this choice fundamentally hobbles Mastodon as a tool for social communication.

       @Naureckas some want social media to be about hanging out with like-minded folks while others like myself want it to be about the public collectively deciding what media should get attention.
