A weird blind spot in my mind is using my programming skills to help with my writing.As in, I have a bunch of stories on platform A, and I need to copy then to platform B. But that'd be a lot of work! If only there was some way to do it easier than just manually copy pasting them one by one.

Which is a weird place to be stuck, considering in every other area I am all for automation. I'll write software and build hardware so I don't have to press a keyboard key too many times. I love automating things!

Just... Not anything to do with writing.It's like the part of my brain that writes and the part of my brain that programs don't know about each other. Maybe I've only got enough mental capacity to run one at a time.

Anyway I just remembered that not only do I write, but I also have a skill which supposedly lets me instruct computers on what to do, so they can do tasks for me. That sounds useful!

@foone having recently taken a dive into the GUI/data model design of rich text editors, there‘s easily a lot of work involved to have a computer react to a couple button presses hammering in a word… 😅

@foone I mean how much time are you going to save in the long run vs. the time it'll take to make and test and fix software to do that. Especially if the platforms don't have any API.

@foone what does "platform" mean here? You're reminding me of my Makefile that calls pandoc but also giving the impression that you have a different problem from the one that solves.
