Inspired by talking with @econads about the Netflix show Travelers:Let's say that the Cuban Missile Crisis led to a global nuclear exchange, wiping out most of civilization. But it turns out that a small group of individuals have access to time travel, giving them a shot to go back and stop it. What sort of time travel mission would you undertake to try to stop the disaster?

@dump_stack @econads dunno how committed you are to this but I’d be fascinated to see how a time travel mission to prop up Rome might actually unfold. I think you would have to go earlier. But others might say that you need to go later and find a way to give the Eastern Empire a boost.

@dump_stack @albnelson Umm how? It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that could be pushed a different way by a single act.
