@mischievoustomato@rebased.taihou.website I gave up on lfs this is just gentoo with musl. LFS is just a shittier version of gentoo is my conclusion.

lmao yeah you can see that a mile and a half away. Gentoo seems nice but it's too much for me. I installed gentoo once to prove I can do it but that's were it ends for me. :archlinux: keeps me happy

@mischievoustomato@rebased.taihou.website I use debian still as my daily driver now but, gentoo on older hardware is REALLY worth it for the performance boost. This is my 2011 imac I'm putting it back on. No other distro runs as fast as gentoo on this machine I swear.

@mischievoustomato@rebased.taihou.website I can say from experience it makes a massive difference. Makes it hard to not use gentoo on everything, but doing so is such a huge headache for maintenance

I'm waiting for arch to support x86-64-v3. Not as good as -march=native, but 80% there without the pain of having to compile everything. I wouldn't mind compiling everything if it werent for dependency cycles. Dependency cycles are the nigger of the gentoo experience
