@tyler I think it's because there is a lot of sniping back and forth about what denomination is to blame for supporting abortion. You can find some accounts on xitter and fall down a very deep rabbit hole. Good people that don't like lying end up having to individually choose which side they sit on, and "a little abortion is ok" is the shiv that got us to where we are now.It's a wiser path to say "a pro-life community is an easier path for 100IQ people to adhere to and thus a stronger long term foundation" and since you have that foundation maybe you can instead of spending money on drug development for a drug to remove fat that a healthy culture which promotes exercise, you could spend that on curing the conditions.

@tyler @sickburnbro Man, when I first moved to a new state years ago I went to the quaint local Lutheran Church. Every thing was very simple & old, but nice. All built by the community. Nothing extravagant etc. After a few weeks I had a private conversation with the Pastor about possibly joining the congregation. I had asked him in private what he had thought of Martin Luther the person & if he had read any of his writings. (A based check if you will.) He was younger for a Pastor & sheepishly admitted he didn't know much beyond the reformation taught in Seminary. (That's fine I don't expect people to be reading books from the 1570's)When I had seen him the next week he pulled me aside and said he saw some "concerning writings from Luther" & he vehemently disagreed with the idea of "On the jews and their lies." In title alone. He went on about israel being a great ally and birthplace of Christianity & how jews are our brothers and sisters etc. He was Evangelical lite. Needless to say we didn't join that church. That kind of opened my eyes that much of the "sects" of Christianity are getting washed out into the grey matter of NPC religion.

I like their family structure, ideals, worth ethics, true communal debates, & I like how (typically) the eldest man / son speaks for a particular family in business and family matters. There's a lot to learn from them in resisting modern temptations & personal resilience. Everyone talks about preppers being survivors. The Amish can survive. All that being said? It's not my tradition, my culture, or my preferred way of life. I do hold them in great esteem and have seen them work absolute circles around me with their teenagers. But alas, it's just not for me.

They framed a barn for us and our family house. I used to have to pick up the men (wahmen couldn't ride with us) & they were like a different species. Only the oldest man would converse. Of course his name was Eli. None of his sons would laugh at a joke or open their mouth until their dad would say "What did you think of that Eli" and 3 out of 6 boys would smile and say "Well I like it very much Dad." I was younger at the time and was like "They're odd but I like them." Now that I'm grown & I go back home to visit them I get excited to see Eli & his sons as I later learned Eli wouldn't converse with me the same as my Father because I wasn't a man & men should speak to children differently. Now when I see him he'll tell me jokes & stories etc. GREAT people. Just not MY people.

Yeah.
