I think I found an unused and hidden image inside a SNES game but I'm not sure I really want to go to all the work of extracting it properly (the palette is fucked) and more importantly, playing through the game to make sure it's REALLY unused

I'll just learn how to program SNES games so I can manually reprogram the palette while the game is running. that's fine.

Found it.You have to hack the palette to make it appear correctly, but there's a hidden image located off-screen in Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit! (1994) for the Super Nintendo.

It's possible there's a way to see this, or even that it gets shown at the end. I'll have to play through the game (which I needed to do anyway, for... Reasons) to make sure

the existing cheats I can find mostly don't work, but I did find that setting 0x7E1A8A to 1 means you only need one crate to beat each leveland setting WRAM:0x317 to 0x68 gives you infinite invulnerability

WRAM:00120B (signed, 16bit) is your y-speed, it seems.so if you force it to -200, whenever you jump, you'll slowly float up. So it's like a shitty jetpack

unsurprisingly, WRAM: 0x000307 is your X coord.also the game seems to have a weird fall-detection: if your Y coordinate increases too much in a single frame, you're considered falling, and it goes to the death scene

@foone theory: the id in the subroutine is modulo'd/bitshifted/xor'ed or something at some point, so a bunch of numbers will end up pointing to the same addresses of images

I don't recall anything about a hidden image in SNES Home Improvement, but I was brought in near the end of the project and my only involvement with that game was writing the AI for the ants.
