@futurebird Not directly responsive but a thing that is constantly bugging me in my particular internet community: When people use "TERF" to describe people who are transgender-exclusionary but not radical feminists. Almost every so-called "TERF" outside a small group in England is a liberal feminist or not a feminist at all. The radical feminists deserve to be criticized about a number of things but what they were doing is interesting enough it bugs me when they get literally erased!!

@futurebird I'm going to go with "other." I really don't care about typos, unless that typo is done by someone complaining about typos. I can't remember ever using the golden ratio in a conversation. I MIGHT pipe up over taxonomy, but since that isn't my specialty in science, I tend to shut up and let others talk. Which leaves 'other'. I saw someone miscorrected about train speeds the other day... I was fairly sure he was right, and it took 10 seconds to confirm. I backed him.

@futurebird My job is to teach students the differences between taxonomical relationships in the plants we eat, so that urge comes up every time I hear someone use words like "family" or "variety" to loosely describe similarities between say cauliflower and sweet potato. Or maybe that urge is why I took the job in the first place, to create a space where my corrections were wanted!
