When I have a physical project (usually around the home, usually a repair, maybe an improvement), I *can't* just order something online. I need to see and manipulate the potential hardware, get a feel for it, and synthesize an understanding for how I will use it.Please tell me I'm not alone in this...(A 1:1 replacement is different, as I already have what I need. So is "I've worked with this before", so I could get half-slot unseen, but I need to handle the hook for a bug zapper)

@emag Absolutely. Physical contact is knowledge of the deepest sort. Even applies to electronics and code with the right tools.

Like, I need to replace the fill/float thingy in the powder room. I *could* just order it. But the previously mentioned bug zapper, I want to evaluate the hooks, and physically see if the extension cord has the water resistant features I imagine I need at the coupling point. The cable management, I've got tons of.
