@stux I don't have instagram and I tried to look at something someone sent me a while back, you don't get to see it if you don't have the app or log in to an account on your computer.

@stux really? I found tiktok to be quite okay with their webapp.Tho I started using untrack me and proxitok a while ago so that might have changed ;D

@stux Yes, Instagram is always a problem. Even if you post an IG link on Facebook, they expect you to d/l the IG app. Greedy Meta!

@stux my eldest child sends me TikToks and I have to press a few ‘show as desktop’ and ‘show as mobile’ to eventually get it to load. It’s insanely annoying.

@stux a bit annoying lifehack:If upon opening the link it reveals the video's full URL (with the uploader's username and post id in it), you can copy it, add "vx" before "tiktok" and send it to yourself via some chat that embeds videos like Discord or Telegram and watch it through thereor maybe you can download it with yt-dlp (or the YTDLnis android app available on F-Droid)
