One problem with big chain stores swallowing everything up is it destroys small towns.A local grocery store is going to have a local attorney, a local CPA... They will use a variety of local companies. That means those small businesses can survive in a smaller town. Walmart has almost all its "higher functions" sent off to big city firms and tends to use large regional companies for M&O stuff
