One damn question I always got when I was true atheist (not Reddit atheist .. fuck those guys!) was "Why do you think we are here in this world?"I never cared. We are born. We die. The idea of there being some purpose, some reason, for all of this seemed, and to some extent still seems, absurd. It just smells of that need to apply reasons to everything, and leads in large part to those idiots who think that when a nigger kills a White, there must have been some esoteric reason behind it all. These are the people who absolutely cannot, by any means, handle the concept of random chance.

To an extent, yes. I am firmly convinced there is much in this world we don't know about. Could Champ or Nessie be relics of Plesiosaurs living in some underground cavern system and every so often coming up into our world? Possibly. So, could a throwback to some earlier time be lurking out in the mountains? Sasquatch or Yeti or such? Possible.

I considered this beforeAngola is a better idea imo, huge amounts of resources and fairly central. Land somewhat similar to Texas and New Mexico with large swaths of very fertile land. Easier to invade due to the fact there aren't infinity islands

Papua New Guinea has like dozens of savage tribes that are almost all cannibals and have all been murdering each other in perpetuity. Like every single valley has a different tribe and they are all constantly at a state of war with one tribe or another. You would have to ethnically cleanse the entire island to even hope of having a moments peace that zog would use that as an excuse to exterminate you.
