@interfluidity @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim Dear GOP: Be careful of what you wish for. You just might get it. You thought the blowback for overturning Roe was bad? Just wait until the economy grinds to a halt because nobody and trust anybody or anything in the marketplace. It's going to be a massive shitshow.

@interfluidity @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim The thing I wondered about was what happens if VP Harris is elected to the Presidency, but come Inauguration Day, SCOTUS is in a nasty mood, and refuses to swear her in. Is there a backup judge stashed away in a back room somewhere? Is the wearing in a formality?

@interfluidity @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim simplest thing in the world for the chief executive to have a department he is in charge of do what the other department says. SCOTUS ruling or not. It's a choice friends, one the democrats will pretend to be powerless about while fully being in charge of the choice.

@interfluidity @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim can't the President tell them to do otherwise?

@otfrom @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim@Netux in this case yes, hypothetically, but it doesn’t scale for the President to adjudicate even intragovernmental disputes. and most disputes won’t be intragovernmental.

@interfluidity @davidho @Brad_Rosenheim @Netux true, but you would have thought it would be easy for the Commander in Chief to just say "do it"It doesn't solve the other problems, but the US military is a pretty big polluter as an organisation
