@angiebaby @MikeDunnAuthor I don't know. He's deeply uncurious about the world around him and actively tries to NOT learn new things. To me that's dull regardless of any instincts he may have for slinging insults or grifting. And what sort of future will he have? In 20 years what will he have to look back on and feel proud of as the world keeps changing around him?A smart man would see the dead end he's motoring down and turn around.

@corbden @MikeDunnAuthor @futurebird I started the final stage of my career rewriting systems in 1999 because of Y2K. Spent 6 months rewriting a department’s data system. Caught all sorts of bugs.But when I retired in 2020 they still had dates coming in as six digits in some places. lol What kills me is we’re heading into the same situation in 2038 and I’m not sure what’s being done about it.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem

not sure what’s being done about it.A lot of middle-managers will be buying a chatGPT pro subscription and just shoveling the codebase through it. with "fix the date bug in this..." and then giving themselves a tidy bonus for all the developer overtime they just saved.
