@white_male @Terry @Rapenyan With how many soldiers that died already in Ukraine that country has now turned into a sanitary zone. I think Russia will eventually wipe out the biggest part of radicals and let the rest live. Ukraine wont exist anymore.

If it is diversionary, it's retarded. Russia's army is effectively several times bigger than Ukraine's. Russia has far more land than Ukraine. Russia can spare the forces to defend Kursk without significant impact on other fronts, or they can just let Ukraine slowly walk deeper into enemy territory, surrounded on all sides, creating an ever longer front line to defend. Ukraine already had more fronts than they have the manpower to defend and they just opened another one. Brilliant.

It's too far in. They only have a couple days from the start of the operation to secure it. After that reinforcements will arrive and then it will just be another trench battle, assuming they were smart and fast enough to dig in. From the sounds of it, Putin is big mad and more than a few reinforcements will arrive.Ukraine is getting slowly ground down. They shouldn't consider any strategy with less than a 5-to-1 advantage, and if that leaves no strategies then they should get to the negotiating table fast. The longer they fight the more men they lose and the harder it will be to regroup and rebuild. They already didn't control the Donbas before the war; as it stands they would lose little territory in practice. The smart strategy is to get a ceasefire immediately at whatever cost and start building underground drone factories for round 2 (assuming they want round 2).
