sometimes VPs do have an impact on governance. that, it seems to me, is a more pressing concern than (apparently very modest) electoral impacts.

@interfluidity Does the President and the electorate trust the VP more than Lincoln was able to trust Andrew Johnson would seem to be a major concern.

@interfluidity I don't know exactly how small the electoral impact is, but I think I care more about a 1% chance of avoiding Trump than the governance differences among any of the VP contenders
