@futurebird Odds are good we might be.At least in our galaxy. Some back of the envelope math assuming some kind of self replicating probe or colony, able to build an other generation in a century after arrival, maybe able to get up to ten percent light speed, given even just the 5 billion years Earth has had to get up to us, we should be awash in alien probes from elsewhere. So many assumptions, it is little better than a guess, but possible we could be the first.

@futurebird But you mean "socially," correct? Not just stuff, but a peaceful, prosperous, sustainable world, right? To what technology should we turn? See the problem? For other shit, like space-ships and such, we turn to various technologies - same with disease etc. So...to what technology do we turn to control ourselves?
