This is what I'm tearing down at the moment. It's an RTMS Sx-300 HDCAM by ImageSensing systems. Basically it seems to just be a camera, but designed for heavy duty outside use. and it has some weird RF thing going on

@foone Yar, I recognize the 24ghz antanda. You can buy individual 24g radar units (5v, one output pin!) on AliExpress for a buck. Antandas are weird. Thinking HF for a moment, and antenna field patterns as big soap bubbles over a dipole, if you put dipoles parallel at various spacings the pattern (soap bubble) stretches on one dimension and shrinks in another. And adjacent lower-tuned (longer) dipoles (reflect), shorter ones direct and you get Yagi behavior. An array of 24ghz soap bubbles all in a grid probably makes an in phase narrow beam, with summed energy. It's all FM (fucking magic).

@tomjennings @foone yep, patch antennas even in the 2.4 ghz (i.e. 802.11bgn) look like that. The ones I have are 90 degrees beam width, so they don't have to be super focused. But clearly summing the signals together.Black magic!
