       @JessTheUnstill @lispi314 @evangreer I don't think it's "something about becoming a parent". It's social (often generational) indoctrination about the (non-)personhood of children.

       @JessTheUnstill @lispi314 @evangreer I don't think it's far-fetched that there are biological "imperative to protect" mechanisms, but it is far-fetched to say that naturally leads to dehumanizing your children and suddenly trusting people who you'd otherwise recognize as malevolent.

       @JessTheUnstill @lispi314 @evangreer The latter comes as part of a worldview that existing authority and power relationships are fundamentally okay, that it's okay that they hurt your children, and that it's your job to go along with them in hurting your children to try to make them conform so they won't be hurt more by other people.
