So are supernovas just hangry stars?

@futurebird My favorite supernova fact that I cannot avoid bringing up anytime someone mentions supernovas: most of the energy released in a supernova is in the form of neutrinos. It's so much energy that there is actually *neutrino pressure*. These particles that can go through a light year of lead with a 50/50 chance of hitting anything are colliding with things in such amount that, without their presence, the supernova would fizzle rather than actually explode.

@futurebird some are HORNY stars. ie one star sends some stuff to insight supernova activity in the other star that ultimately gives birth to new baby stars.its a whole ecosystem out there!

@futurebird I was told they're slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball.

@futurebird Who amongst us hasn’t gone into a blind rage when our favorite coffee shop closes early.
