I'm delighted to find that the Great Potoo is a bird that sounds *exactly* how it looks.Look up some images of this bird. Imagine what sound it makes... then listen to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlRsRdVpudM

@futurebird Easily the most naturally muppetlike of all avians. I imagine they can also sing Mahna Mahna when the mood strikes.

@futurebird As I 'm a little short-sighted, I'd trouble recognizing the bird on the branch. The woo cry is surpising ๐Ÿ˜„

@futurebird ah, the potoo, they belong in a group with nightjars, frogmouths, oilbirds, swifts, and ... humingbirds ... yeah. And some of the nocturnal brids in the group are more closely related to the diurnal swifts and humingbirds than they are to the other nocturnal birds. And that's just the tip of the iceberg; the more you learn about strisores the weirder they get.

@futurebird it sounds like a Jim Henson muppet of a bird. Like it belongs in Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal. Which is also what it looks like. Very cool. :blobcataww:

@futurebird I can't figure out if it sounds sarcastic, but it doesn't matter. I love it, either way
