       I like the conspiracy theory that US, or Westoid tech in general, was actually far more advanced by the end of Cold War than we ever knew, but they just hid all those fruits of black budget projects and never disclosed them to the public or used for military purposes, since till this day there was no need for such a technology. The thing is that above is actually true - the question is to what extent - since at some point Westoids realized how much vaporware they tried to counter and simply stopped making overdone projects, for it turned out that 80's tech was already enough for half a century to come. The reason for that stipulation is how relatively large and quick technological leap was the Cold War, and how the technology seemingly hardly improved since it's end. I'm talking about them hiding some advanced kinetic and energetic weaponry, anti-gravity technology, manned and unmanned hypersonic aircrafts, aircrafts capable of unassisted exo- and endoatmospheric flights, at least partial invisibility in visible and radiowave regime, advanced quantum communications etc.
