@rebeccawatson I'm being a little sarcastic. Although I do think part of the muted response to this technically newsworthy event is related to how common shootings have become. It's just very hard for me to get worked up, as a teacher when I have to do drills (and in one case not a drill) with my students all the time. This is just how we all live now.

@futurebird I sympathize greatly with your teacher duties including shooter drills and cannot imagine how awful that is. I am so sorry that this is “just how we all live now”. But please fight against the normalization of horrific events. Normalization of horrific events is not a healthy state of mind. @rebeccawatson

@futurebird i, for one, do not intend to get worked up if Harris ever gets shot at.Please stop letting extra-evil-presidential-candidate warp your sense of reality.Although i can't _really_ get worked up against assassination attempts on hitler or whatever, it is still an attempt on the life of a presidential candidate.I is also harder for me to get worked up because about 40,000 people have been murdered, and that asshole is _also_ all for that.
