Biden was on a path to lose the election, because he prioritized swaying "independent" voters, over driving turnout and engagement for the people that have already decided that racism, fascism, and insurrection are bad (Black voters).Future president Harris is on trajectory to win, because so far she's doing much better with the US democratic base (Black voters).So when news covers polling of who should be VP, do you think they prioritize Black voters' pick? Or independent voters pick?1/N

@mekkaokereke What's wrong with Beshear? I think people in PA will like him just fine. I really feel like this kind of poll is just about name recognition. Did you know that a significant portion of voters had no idea the vice president was a Black woman? They are learning that now and getting to know her.

Black voters prefer Harris/Whitmer more than twice as much as they prefer Harris/Buttigieg.I'm not saying that y'all must choose Whitmer! And Buttigieg is fine. No issues with him.I'm saying that I haven't seen any evidence that Buttigieg will drive turnout of any demographic that matters, and swing voters aren't real.🤷🏿♂️Some of y'all are acting like this thing is won already, and it ain't.It still all comes down to "How many Black people will vote, in key districts, in swing states?"2/2

@futurebird @mekkaokereke I continue to be surprised how little the majority of citizens know about anything going on politically … and it’s such a critical thing to understand if you want to win elections

@futurebird This is also part of why I hate plurality polls with more than two options.Which of these is your _first_ choice with 100 options is going to create a very different signal and is basically always going to come down to name recognition and name retention.An approval or a condorcet system wouldn't have this problem, but that's not what they use. @mekkaokereke

@futurebird @mekkaokereke I would guess Beshear is not going to be very good on climate policy. Climate policy has been important to young parts of the constituency.
