Getting electrolysis wouldn't *cure* my dysphoria completely, but it sure as hell would make the day to day a lot less

@Yuki You mean epilation?Electrolysis is zapping water so the molecules split.

@Paradox@raru.re @Yuki@xantronix.social Yeah some people call laser epilation electrolysis for whatever reason, I found out...

@cody @Paradox electrolysis in relation to hair is different than laser hair removal -- they stick an electrode into each hair folicle and, either through galvanic action or heat damage, destroys the hair folicleshttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrology

@Yuki@xantronix.social @Paradox@raru.re jesus oh wow this sounds tedious af, I had no idea this even existed, nice to know tho... I had laser but the place I was doing it at closed down, so I'm looking into either other laser places or maybe electrology (? interesting interesting

@Paradox the term "Electrolysis" isn't specific to water breakdown, it refers to the methodology of using DC current to drive a chemical reaction (in the case of galvanic hair electrolysis, the creation of sodium hydroxide inside the hair follicle causing it to break down)

@Yuki Ah, ok. Well that makes it a little ambiguous. Maybe call it hair electrolysis?Although I'll grant that you gave that context in the post. The water thing was the first result, so I didn't know it was that generalized.

@cody @Paradox it's extremely tedius, hair by hair! But it's super effective when done correctly with no chance of regrowth. The sessions are usually 30 minutes to an hour, but there's at least one clinic in Chicago that does 10 hour long full face sessions!

@Yuki @cody 10 hours??I'm taking a sleeping pill, that's way too boring to be awake for.I feel bad for the techs.
