Hot take: public transit should not be run "for profit". The profit comes from everybody getting to their destination quickly, efficiently, and predictably.

And if #neoliberal politicians keep insisting on transit companies being run for-profit, I propose that roads, and highways will also be run for-profit.And if they don't want that, I want people to explain why there's such a double standard for those two. (I already know why, but I'd like to see them try explain it without sounding like an arse)

@ainmosni Sorry, that criterion only applies to the military, I’m afraid. Can you make public transit murder Brown folks on the other side of the world? If so, let’s talk.

@ainmosni If the profit was reinvested in said transit, rather than taken out as bonuses and dividends, it may of improved the infrastructure it relies on. Same with utility companies. Too bad this basic premise is lost on the corpos that currently take the billpayer for a ride.
