Hot take: the USB consortium should legitimize those late-90s/early-2000s USB-to-PS/2 adapters. The passive ones, where they just trigger the mouse/keyboard to switch protocols.Make USB-P a new connector type: it's just the old PS/2 connector.

@foone so you want usb over the ps2 connector? why not the other way around? grandfather in the ps2 protocol over the usb connector? this way we dont need no adapte rbut can still use these devices in their ps2 modes.

@foone I have definitely seen the opposite - a device with a USB Type-A port that only speaks PS/2.
