AOC has one trait that I love. She tells her constituents everything. EVERYTHING. To the point that I'm fairly certain that she's not someone who gets to hear a lot of insider secrets "on the hill" But, that might be for the best. So, when she was talking about these creepy donors and "bypassing Harris" I believe her. I wonder if we will ever find out who it was? I'm curious how they are feeling now.

The Democrats, have stumbled into a little bit of that rare political gold: A moment that makes Biden look like a hero and Harris has made (nearly) everyone who was Biden-nervous so happy. That fundraising streak was kinda gross but also very hard to ignore.I just think the way we fund this stuff is generally gross. It should be pubic funding and max individual donations of $100 no dark money dassit.

@futurebird Everyone who referred to who the nominee would be as uncertain when they made a statement about Biden dropping out. This includes but is not limited to Obama and Pelosi. Many (but not all!) saw the massive fundraising push, folded, and endorsed Harris. Pelosi folded within 24 hours, Obama to my knowledge has not. We’re really looking at that first statement in the hour or two after the news broke, and who immediately backed Harris and who didn’t.

@Kyleric An Obama endorsement will not help Harris now as much as it will after the delegates vote. He is hoarding political capital as he tends to (and he never does anything big with it drives me NUTS) but it will make her much more "legitimate" if it's not every huge name at once. What can Obama do? Make more black democrats like her more? LOL.

@futurebird At this stage I don’t think voters are the audience for these endorsements, it’s more about the delegates and potential challengers. All the big names endorsing right away dissuades challengers from jumping in and gives the delegates their marching orders. A contested convention should be avoided at all costs.

@futurebird I always felt like running for a government position should be government funded with things like mandatory air times/coverages/etc but also requiring that there be no extras either. Simply put, there should be no money in politics period.

And one was AOC.I bring it up because it gave some small insight about her own journey and growth as a lawmaker.
