       I already knew that the CCS EV car charging standard basically does IPv6 over powerline ethernet and uses something like SOAP calls for the charging negotiation.What I did not know is that the spec also allows the charger offer the car internet access via the charging connector! I’m sure all cars have a robust firewall in place…

       @karppinen why are all the EV plugs like this? Why don't any of them just include some extra pins and do standard USB or something, instead of what all of them do: backwards SPI over AC   power pins and some multiplexed ethernet on the casing which is all used to tell the car the WIFI SSID to use, or bullshit like that?

       @foone @karppinen I wonder if putting standard high speed buses next to serious DC amperage would work at all? I'm literally just an idiot on the internet, but maybe the idea is to have the connectivity by way of the DC load and not in spite of it? Having another PHY than twisted differential pairs might allow them to regain some tolerance and stability? But again, I'm talking out of my ass right now.
