It's disappointing I don't have SpaceX amounts of money, because I know enough about rockets that I could be making way stupider mistakes than them, as a form of performance art.For example, a very common source of failures in rockets is re-igniting the engines. So we design our rockets so that the engines are always running. Even when they're in later stages. We just throttle it way down.

@foone Rookie mistake to build your rocket on the ground. If it's already in space it does not even need engines.

Our heavy lift vehicle is going to be better than the Saturn V! It's way more massive, partially because of all the shielding to protect the upper stages from the engines of the even more upper stages. But yeah, to continue the naming scheme of the Saturn V and to prove we're better, we're calling it the Uranus VII!

@foone See, you've just got to have an engine pointing the other direction that's also always running, and that'll keep you on track! What? No, I didn't learn all my rocket science from Kerbals. What are you talking about?

@foone It's a great plan. And if you ever needed net-zero thrust you could just put half of them into reverse!

@foone simply add more constantly-running rockets facing the opposite direction and adjust relative levels, ezpz
