@feld @disarray why bother, every HVAC appliance these days comes with an infrared remote or a scheduling system, I don't want this shit on my network, and how often do you really need to set the bloody temperature just pick one and stick with it and let it do the heavy lifting

@prettygood @disarray I can watch my dog from the camera above the rear view mirror and check the temperature from my phoneit's fucking amazing. My car is a portable climate controlled dog kennel when I'm traveling.

@7666 @disarray Remote start isn't gonna work when the car is half a mile away. Let's say you're coming back from a trail hike and you want the car cooled by the time you arrive -- remote start isn't sufficient and being able to monitor the temperature and get alerts when there are living, breathing animals in your car is important

@disarray This is one reason why I'm glad I got the CBR650R from the last year with the cool inverted LCD dash instead of the TFT dash with phone connectivity of the current one. :blobfoxgoogly:

@Hyolobrika how do I use the dashboard from a distance? I wouldn't use the phone to control it in the car, it's for when I'm not near the car.1. wake up in the morning in the winter, warm up the car even when it's too far away for a remote starter to work2. coming back to the car in the summer, already have it cooled down before you get to it3. control and monitor temperature when you leave pets or children inside. This is common when traveling for me as I can't bring my dog with me everywhere, so the car is a mobile pet kennel that has climate control and a camera for me to check in on my dog
