       @anarchotaoist This is the truth! Many argue that Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft & Co are the creations of capitalism. They are completely wrong. These monopolistic giants are the creation of the government. As a thought experiment, imagine that these companies had _no_ public customers, wipe out the value of all their public contracts from their balance and income statements, and look at how much smaller they are now.        @anarchotaoist intellectual property rights, and think about how quickly their services and products could be copied and made even better at a lower cost. Last, but not least, imagine that they would not be able to weaponize the law (a government instrument) by threats, regulatory capture and other techniques, and imagine how many entrepreneurs who would already have started successful competitors, for the benefit of the consumers and customers.
