@stux Biden serving out this term but not a second generally seems like a good move, but this is really not the right time to decide this.Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't imagine this is better than if he just initially announced he wouldn't run for re-election and endorsed Harris then.

@stux nobody has a clue and that's just a fact. I would say this, though: Biden could have survived the debate issue if Democrats had closed ranks. But I don't see how his campaign was viable after Democrats spent 3 weeks putting knives in his back. The attack ads pretty much write themselves. So, this was pretty much inevitable. Dems had better get it right now.

@stux Hate to say it, but I don't think a black woman can win in this racist-ass, sexist-ass country.I will say that as everybody was campaigning for him to drop out, I was telling everybody shut up like most supporters, but when Obama joined in on that, that's when I got to thinking that they know something we don't know.

@stux feels like a "the grass is always greener" moment. Not happy with what they've got, but no consensus on which is a better alternative. Even if there's a better candidate, it feels unlikely that the Democrats will line up behind them without a long period of infighting... which there's no time for. Shoulda run with what they brung.

It’s not just a matter of rallying around the new candidate, it’s having too much control in the hands of fickle billionaire donors, it’s right-wing lawyers contesting and possibly throwing the new candidate of the ballot. It’s the level racism and sexism that will be a bigger issue than some pretend. All with so much at stake. Aaaaaaaaaa!!!
