@aral That’s because big company developed a solution for their specific needs not yours. If your need and their needs align, great (but probably unlikely unless you’re into homogeneity), otherwise, if you need a solution, develop it yourself (yeah, sometimes you gotta roll your own) or look elsewhere.

@aral It's mostly hipster startups that use those over-the-top solutions for trivial problems. Big tech solutions solve big tech problems, not startup problems but some people do not understand that.

@aral my first website had Frames. It was not perfect, but it was a pretty OK solution to that problem. I think we could have fixed frames with reasonable effort.#web #dev

@claudius Well, standardardised server-side includes would also fix the issue. But that ship has sailed. And the use case isn’t sexy enough for the galaxy brains in Silicon Valley to spend any time on.
