@m8urnett I recently helped set up a private distributed antenna system (DAS) connected to a major cellular service provider. Chatting with the technical lead for this project, the described records are typically used by carriers to optimize coverage for specific sites/zones. This *especially* aligns with the fact that some records include cell site IDs. A large number of short-duration calls at a given site indicates a problem with customer reception, which can prompt further investigation on what calls were using what bands, which bands are more reliable in a given region, etc.Not saying this data couldn't be used for other purposes, but I want to be clear that there are definitely internal motivations for the described data set. (Federal regulations around call details also come to mind, but these would have timestamp associations as well.)
