@aral It comes down to this, if the US and say the PCR want to have a nuclear war, the fallout affects the entire world not just the two assholes using nuclear weapons, so the rest of the world cares who the schmuck in the white house is. If the destruction would stay within their borders, I doubt anyone would give a f**k.

@aral @Alephwyr I think there might be another traditionally 'powerful' country in the process of coming to what they think is 'the rescue' of the US right now, by pushing them towards that fascism.It's important to be aware what we want to be 'rescued' is from.

@aral Except that the gunman is in another room, thousands of kilometres away. For every Australian victim, there are ten USA gunmeen, thirty chinese gunmen and thirty Indian gunmen a lot closer. The leading gunman signals his refusal to acknowledge my culture by not wearing Akubra hats or driving a Holden or hanging his dirty laundry on a Hills. Do they even serve lamingtons or vegemite in the whitehouse? The empire is in the end stages of decay. Collapse and chaos are inevitable. The culture is toxic and malevolent, but so distant and foreign that climate change and the AFL scores just seem a lot more relevant and interesting.

@aral It's somewhat the same here, where we see our elections as something like being married to a person who is trying with only partial success to cope with anger-management issues. We want the relationship to work, we're ready to offer support, but there's always the risk we'll be too close at just the wrong moment.
