More people should be talking about how one of the checklist items for project 2025 is "eliminate public schools".I can't imagine anything that will turn off parents more than "you will pay half your income to send your kids to private school or you will homeschool your kids"Suddenly the reasons the GOP is insistent on selling guns to kids and tourists seems kind of obvious as well.

@Basic_Bench to be clear, I think project 2025 is bad. However, what's your source on them wanting to eliminate public schools? I don't see that anywhere. I do think they will make public schools virtually useless if parents can veto anything their kids might be taught. An important part of education is giving students new perspectives on stuff—often ones their parents disagree with.

@ThiccGuy69 They directly state the plan is to shift funding from schools to 'educational savings accounts'. This means for states to recoup the 8% in federal funding they'll lose this way then they'll have to find ways to charge parents to cover that gap. Obviously though the increased administration of making thousands of people pay and enforcing nonpayment instead of issuing one government grant will not be factored in.
