Trump did not "denounce" project 2025. He said he didn't know what it was. Which is obviously false. But I see people writing essays and headlines saying he "denounced" or "distanced himself" from project 2025. Which is like giving him what he wants without forcing him to suffer the internal fracturing and fallout a real denunciation would cause. Make. Him. Say. It.Is this you, or nah?

@FeralRobots @futurebird This is the same tactic he’s taken with other things like QAnon, etc. Paraphrased: “I don’t know anything about them, but I hear they like me.”

@ramsey @FeralRobots Totally true. Yet his connections to 2025 are much deeper, more functional, and have more direct implications for what he would do with power than QAnon ever did. QAnon was an unofficial creepy fan club.Project 2025 is a list of plans he will absolutely implement. I think you know this but I want to say this since I don't want people to think of Project 2025 as being like QAnon in terms of legitimacy and power.

@futurebird @FeralRobots I wasn’t trying to equate it with QAnon. That was a poor example.Yes, Project 2025 is several orders of magnitude more insidious and dangerous than QAnon.

@futurebird Trump is a pathological liar. He gets enjoyment from saying things in such a way that people infer something else.

@futurebird The Heritage Foundation has been at work to undermine self-determination for generations. I am not exaggerating. According to them, at the end of Reagan's first year in office, he had "implemented nearly half of Mandate’s recommendations". (p. 885) The Heritage Foundation stood in for Reagan's brain 40 years ago, and they stand in for Trump's brain now. Trump and Reagan were actors acting a part.

@futurebird He basically pulled a "good people on both sides" stunt again. I don't know how this keeps working on people...
