I think the world today would be noticeably better if one change would have been made back in 1990.Include an icon editor with Windows 3.x. The ripple effects down the line? considerable!

this is why they don't let me make exploratory changes at the Time Division. everyone else is killing hitler and such, and I'm over here trying to improve the state of 90s icon culture

@foone Oh I remember I (somehow) got my hands on a Windows 3.1 icon editor back in the day! I thought it was so cool, I made a whole bunch of custom icons for stuff just because I could. In particular I remember painstakingly drawing an icon for Mortal Kombat. It wouldn't run in Windows of course, but I had a neat icon for it nonetheless.

@foone I'd go back and talk to ancestors. Who were their parents, where were they from, who has the family bible. And, if I could. buy some of the stuff that got sold at auction in 1826 (like the record pages from the bible that was sold).

@foone I was doing something on one of our Active Directoy servers the other day and it struck me how many of the icons still have that Win3.1 look.

@foone While you're at it, can you show someone on the Amiga dev team the Quake sqrt, see if we can stop 3D killing most platforms in the public eye?

@foone Even if just MS Paint or Paintbrush could export ICO and/or CUR files that would have been a fun change that got more people making custom icons

@foone @stripey I had a great time making animated mouse cursors with Microangelo (trial period, natch).
