@Le3Kat So I was watching a video about how people who got used to texting back when texting was new... would split their thoughts up like this... because they had to send everything in one message. And for some reason using just one period never fucking occurred to them.And nowadays we'll send a bunch of messages in rapid fire. Which also annoys me because I have to wait so long to be sure they're done talking. At least, if we're actively in conversation. If not, I don't fucking care, because I might wait a whole hour to respond anyway.Now occasionally I'll omit a period if it's a super short message that's not even a full sentence, or because it's funny not to have one.

@Le3Kat It seems it's more common with older people, but I have seen it on fedi and Twitter. Usually used for the same reason people do this,,,Whatever that is.

@schappi @Le3Kat Lingering desire definitely seems like the vibe I get a lot from the ellipses, at least. The trailing commas almost always seems to occur in a shitpost. I'd almost think it was a fat finger typo if the comma and period weren't on opposite sides of the keyboard.

@Le3Kat I absolutely do not and have never put that much thought into the length of a pause. I don't care to express that, unless I want to communicate uncertainty, I guess...But that's kinda rare for me. That's interesting, seeing into how other people translate their thoughts into text.
