The problem with the “well, some minority may not be represented by this politician but the alternative is way worse” rhetoric is some day you'll be that minority and everyone will vote for the “lesser evil” that still kills you. It's a sacrifice everyone else is willing to make and if you don't find that cool you're a Trump supporter lol.Any further political action outside of parliamentary elections? Any backing of candidates during the primary that would ensure a better option with no group of being being thrown under the bus? No, of course not. Then we'd actually have to think.

Cool, Biden's the progressive one and supports women's rights and queer rights, especially trans rights too (hasn't always been the case, even).What if he didn't, though? What if the party line was to similar or exactly the same to that of the Republican party? Would you still enthusiastically tell everyone to vote Democrat because on other topics he's the “lesser evil”? If every election is just harm reduction then a completely new strategy towards elections and parlaments needs to be formed. I've explained my thoughts on harm reduction here already, so I won't repeat them. You only got two parties, but the fact anyone, even someone not liked by the Democrats, can run in the primaries is powerful. However, reading Bernie Sander's new book shows how much manipulation was put in his way by the Democratic party's leadership in order to prevent him as a presidential candidate, so even there we need to work on multiple fronts at the same time.We need an syndicalist, intersectionalist, and internationalist left. If every option on the ballot is always throwing one group, or almost every group of people, under the bus, and these groups or their interests are being weighed against one another instead of realizing that all rights or needs can be fulfilled at the same time if we stand united, we will never achieve peace both internally and internationally.

Again, I don't like arguing with morals. I don't think it's morally wrong to vote Democrat. I think it's important to understand the sides here, because neither side is fascist. Trans people being worried about their future, doing everything they can to vote the one option that ensures their survival, of course feel threatened by any movement that, even indirectly, may bring power to the party or person that eradicates them. I just hope through that struggle and fear people will gain some understanding for other minorities, people from countries the U.S. is bombing (where Democratic or Republican leadership didn't matter), indigenous people, people who Biden promised a police reform, Palestinians, and why these groups of people may not be so interested in voting for Democrats or enabling their group's mistreatment to continue.

@NeonPurpleStar It's not about losing entirely, but not come into power in order to be able to fulfill their promises. The reasoning behind this is explained pretty well using historical anectdotes and explains a lot of the behavior of the democratic party (such as with Bernie Sanders in 2016/2020).So, what part of the statements mentioned in the video are false? My simplification of a title obviously couldn't convey the entire idea.

@ErikUden the fact of the matter is the followingTrump has understood that if you are going to lie, lie big, and let your underlings figure out the details. Journalists can try to catch up, but then trump follows up every time with a new series of outrageous lies, and he has lied so much by now, that he lives in an entirely different reality.The press needs their drama and whatever shit to print articles, but they just cannot touch trump, because he will lie again. So in the end, the press will just take a shit on biden for literally ANYTHING, to just print articles. And they just keep doing this shit, they will attack biden again and again and again.Whether you like it or not, biden IS the defender of democracy in the usa right now. The least we can do, is at least show a little appreciation, instead of dogpiling with the rest of media.

It goes beyond the current slander of Joe Biden and analyzes the past 100 years of U.S. politics as well as the significant change in behavior both parties showed in the 1980s. @NeonPurpleStar well, the video in itself doesn't even provide a solution, it just provides an alternative explanation as to why so many progressive and well-polling candidates inside the democratic party (such as Bernie Sanders both 2016 and 2020) have been prevented even though they would've been the best option against fascism.As I explained previously in the thread: I think it's still OK to vote for the democratic party. As long as you're honest to yourself, honest to your voters or the people you're convincing! Be real about the fact that this is harm reduction, be truthful that this person has their flaws. We're not a cult of personality, we can encourage critical thinking, and if we want to get out of this struggle we have to think outside of elections, all the while not losing track of the power parliaments provide.I can fully understand if you deem any criticism of the Democratic Party, in times like these, like rats cannibalising one another on a sinking ship. I believe in voters, though. If you promise the world and deliver nothing then you've only delivered disappointment. If you honestly explain why the system is fucked but you still need to vote for this guy in order for the worse guy to not win, then people will work on fixing this system outside of the elections and still vote.Just think of France! Every radical leftist still votes for Macron in order to prevent Le Pen. They know that he's not good, they vote for him only to protest against him on the streets the day after. After years of this struggle we have the Nouveau Front Populaire in order for there to not only he the option between Le Pen and Macron but a third, better option.No voter needed to be deceived, fascism was prevented, and a long-term solution was worked on! This can work, all it needs is a change in strategy.
